Nudge Vacanze

Nudge Vacanze

Just as the summer season is upon us, on some beaches of Cefalu is taking a mysterious phenomenon that has intrigued some swimmers who began photographing some blue jellyfishes.
A jellyfish's colony of the species "Velella Velella" has, in fact, caught the eye of tourists and some bathers on the beach in the last week of April.

"In Sicily,'' Giovanni Puglisi went on to say,''over its millennial history, no religious-cultural experience was ever eliminated".

The announcement was made by the head of the commission, Sicily native Giovanni Puglisi. ''This result,'' he said, ''not only adds more value to a territory that undoubtedly deserves a better future than what has been handed to it by the political mishaps of the past few years, it also inserts into UNESCO World Heritage a one-of-a-kind site, since the Byzantine and Arab-Norman heritage in Palermo's historical and artistic sites is the only one in the world with its cultural syncretism spanning religious and political divides.''

From May 5 to 11 restaurants, pastry shops, streets, squares and historical buildings will be the meeting points for connoisseurs, gourmets, visitors, tourists and enthusiasts who will appreciate and learn about the local specialties.

Do you would like a free time weekend in a beautiful garden?
May to the park is an initiative of the Municipality of Palermo and is promoted by ACLI in collaboration with Future South in partnership with the Region of Sicily and the Sicilian Regional Assembly.

Four days of entertainment for people of all ages to spend outdoors with whoever you want with music and shows, arts and crafts, exhibitions, sports and recreational activities, and much more to the English Garden in Palermo!!

The territory as an artwork: Fiumara d'Arte

What would happen if Sicily itself became the background for some artworks? It would look like a artwork within the artwork, the creativity of man surrounded by the art of nature.
This is how, in the bed of an ancient dried-up river which flowed from the neighbors Nebrodi mounts, the "Fiumara d'Arte" (literally: art torrent) is born – in a landscape that alternates rocky desolation to stretches of lush vegetation and offers extraordinary views of the wide mountains and the sea in the distance.

Fammi na cudduredda

(make me a "cudduredda", tipical sicilian food)

Fammilla bedda ranni

Arancine with meat

Heat the broth, and when it starts to boil, pour in the rice and the saffron and continue to cook on a moderate heat until the rice has absorbed all the liquid and is cooked (if necessary, add a little more broth). Season the rice with parmesan cheese and butter and let cool completely (you can prepare the rice the day before, store it in the fridge and finish preparing the next day).

Cefalu is a snail

It is difficult to imagine a more close and indissoluble connection between a town and an element of the landscape in which it is immersed, than the one that exists between Cefalù and its promontory, "la Rocca". A rock formation of about 250 meters, magnificent and wild, riddled with caves and ravines, topped with Mediterranean vegetation, la Rocca overlooks and dominates Cefalù, offering among other things, an incomparable natural background to that man-made miracle that is the Norman cathedral – the Duomo.
