Just as the summer season is upon us, on some beaches of Cefalu is taking a mysterious phenomenon that has intrigued some swimmers who began photographing some blue jellyfishes.
A jellyfish's colony of the species "Velella Velella" has, in fact, caught the eye of tourists and some bathers on the beach in the last week of April.
"In Sicily,'' Giovanni Puglisi went on to say,''over its millennial history, no religious-cultural experience was ever eliminated".
The announcement was made by the head of the commission, Sicily native Giovanni Puglisi. ''This result,'' he said, ''not only adds more value to a territory that undoubtedly deserves a better future than what has been handed to it by the political mishaps of the past few years, it also inserts into UNESCO World Heritage a one-of-a-kind site, since the Byzantine and Arab-Norman heritage in Palermo's historical and artistic sites is the only one in the world with its cultural syncretism spanning religious and political divides.''
From May 5 to 11 restaurants, pastry shops, streets, squares and historical buildings will be the meeting points for connoisseurs, gourmets, visitors, tourists and enthusiasts who will appreciate and learn about the local specialties.
Do you would like a free time weekend in a beautiful garden?

This is the Bike Festival that will take place at Park Gioeni in Catania 25 to 27 April 2014.
A charming location. A long spring weekend in late April. The bicycle as a protagonist. The Gioeni Park is one of the most important green lungs of the city of Catania. Located in an elevated position relative to the center of the city, with a breathtaking view of the Gulf of Catania and with more than 86,000 square meters of public green.
The festival is organized by Mount Etna MTB Team, an association founded as a group of passionate cyclists who are also active in the organization of major events on two wheels.
All this for free :)

"It rained manna for all the time that the Jews remained in the desert; forty years; the rain stopped when they arrived in the land of Canaan. When the Jews asked Moses what it was, he said, it is the bread which the Lord gave you to eat."
Everyone knows the biblical story. But probably not many people know that the manna, for a long time regarded as heavenly food, the food of angels, is a plant product suitable for several food and pharmaceutical uses. Also not so many people will know that it is produced - today - only in a very limited area of Sicily, within the territories of Castelbuono and Pollina, in the Madonie Park municipalities: the last oasis in the Mediterranean where the centuries-old traditions and techniques related to this crop are still preserved.
We will now start a tour through Cefalu's main sights and through the surrounding towns, tucked away into the Madonie Park, to offer you some suggestions for your holiday in our apartments.
In this article we would start the journey with the ancient palaces in Cefalu.
What would happen if Sicily itself became the background for some artworks? It would look like a artwork within the artwork, the creativity of man surrounded by the art of nature.
This is how, in the bed of an ancient dried-up river which flowed from the neighbors Nebrodi mounts, the "Fiumara d'Arte" (literally: art torrent) is born – in a landscape that alternates rocky desolation to stretches of lush vegetation and offers extraordinary views of the wide mountains and the sea in the distance.
A very nice nursery rhyme in old Sicilian dialect
(I'm sorry but the translation is not easy...)
Luna, lunedda
(Moon little moon)
Fammi na cudduredda
(make me a "cudduredda", tipical sicilian food)
Fammilla bedda ranni
(make me a big one)
